"The Perfect Marriage" by Jeneva Rose

Is there such a thing?

I read the summary on the back cover of this book and - being an avid thriller reader - decided to give it a try.

It's the story of a "perfect marriage” (in quotes, of course) of a very successful NY lawyer - Sarah - and her not-as-successful husband, Adam. It is a seemingly perfect marriage on the outside, however, unhappy with their relationship, Adam has been having an affair with Kelly for nearly two years. That is… until he wakes up to see her murdered next to him at his and Sarah's lake house.

You can imagine what's next - he is of course charged with her murder. What is intriguing about this plot is that Sarah decides to defend him in court, even after he had been unfaithful to her (not sure if this is legally feasible, but it got me interested in reading the book).

The story got me hooked and for the most part the book was hard to put down. I liked that the story has a first person narrative, alternating the POVs from Sarah and Adam from chapter to chapter - which helped with the pace and twists of the story.

This is a good read if you're looking for an entertaining thriller that will keep you intrigued from beginning to end.
